一群事業(yè)有成的同學(xué)回去看望他們的大學(xué)老師,很快他們開始抱怨生活和工作中的壓力。 老師去廚房為客人們準(zhǔn)備咖啡,回來時(shí)端著一大壺咖啡和各式各樣的杯子,這些杯子有陶瓷的、塑料的、玻璃的、水晶的,有的普通,有的昂貴,有的精致,老師讓大家隨意享用。

等每個(gè)人都端起一杯咖啡,老師說話了:你們注意到嗎:所有好看昂貴的杯子都被用了,剩下那些樸素便宜的杯子。你們都只想要最好的,這很正常,這恰恰是你們的問題和壓力所在。杯子不會(huì)讓咖啡的質(zhì)量變得更好,很多時(shí)候,只是讓它變得更貴一些,甚至,有時(shí)候,讓人忽略了到底我們在喝什么。你們真正想要的其實(shí)是咖啡,不是杯子,但你們有意識地去拿那些最好的杯子,隨后開始打量其他人手上的杯子。想想吧:生活好比咖啡,工作、金錢和社會(huì)地位都只是杯子,只是生活的容器,而我們擁有的杯子既無法定義、也無法改變我們生活的質(zhì)量。有時(shí),由于我們只關(guān)心杯子,我們甚至不能夠好好品嘗上帝賜予我們的咖啡。 上帝沖泡了咖啡,不是杯子。······享受你們的咖啡吧。

最快樂的人們并不是因?yàn)樗麄儞碛凶詈玫囊磺?他們只是把一切當(dāng)成最好。簡單地活著。仁慈地愛著。深深地關(guān)心著。友善地說話。其他的,就留給上帝吧。
